No matter how much you plan, the unexpected still happens

Here's a helpful "survival list" of things to carry and have available for your special day.

• Breath mints, spray or small tube of toothpaste and toothbrush, mouthwash

• Small brush, comb and hand mirror

• Extra makeup (eye shadow/mascara)

• Nonallergic makeup remover

• Hair products: (gel, hair spray, combs, pins, ponytail holder, butterfly clip)

• Hand lotion

• Deodorant, baby powder

• Perfume, aftershave, body lotion

• Cotton balls, cotton swabs

• Nail file, nail glue, polish, clippers

• Clear nail polish for stocking runs

• Extra pairs of nylons (dark socks for groom/groomsmen)

• Krazy glue for shoe heels, decorations or even jewelry

• Earring backs

• Flat shoes

• Small sewing kit, including scissors, safety pins, mini stapler, double stick fabric tape

• Stain removal wipes

• White masking tape for your dress

• Static-cling spray

• Tissues

• Aspirin, cold/allergy tablets, antacids, any prescription medications

• Band-Aids, moleskin (attached to shoes to prevent blisters and as padding for sore feet)

• Tampons/sanitary napkins
